Policy Regarding Moving Meetings to Virtual Only
In times of inclement weather, insufficient volunteers, or as ordained by public health guidelines, meetings may change from a hybrid format to virtual only. The Board will make every effort to notify membership of these changes as soon as reasonably possible, but no later than noon on the day of the Guild Meeting. Thank you for understanding.

GUILD MEETING
September 12, 7 p.m. (hybrid meeting) Fall Project Kick-Off Party! Grab your yarn and needles and come cast on or dream up your fall knitting project with us! This is the meeting to start a sweater, hat, mittens or any other project with friends and support. We will have stations set up to help measure for garment fit, double checking swatch measuments, and using Ravelry to find patterns. There will also be two short presentations on sweater knitting. Mostly, we will be having a fantastic social hour and sharing our newest project ideas & inspiration. If you would like, bring a snack to share. For those of us joining online, the Zoom will be a meeting rather than a webinar, so you can share your projects virtually. Weird Sisters Popup! Weird Sisters is the best (and only) yarn shop in St. Johns offering a wide variety of yarn and plenty of samples to encourage your knitting. They are very hands-on with finding the perfect project for you and helping build it. They are especially good at picking the right colors and will give you several options. Weird Sisters, we are proud to say, are long-time business members of PKG so they will have a pop-up shop at our September meeting to join in the theme of casting on a project. Don’t miss this chance to see some of their sample sweaters, kits, and yarn! |
GUILD MEETING
October 10, 7 p.m. (hybrid meeting) Loyce Ericson Making Felted Buttons Loyce will be demonstrating how to create extraordinary felted buttons by wrapping loose wool around ordinary objects. If you are attending the meeting in person and would like to make a felted button along with Loyce please bring a plain round plastic button 3/4"-1 1/2" diameter. It doesn't matter if it has 2 holes or 4 but no shanks. Loyce is a felt maker and is addicted to colors and textures. She has been making felt and teaching for 20+ years. She loves felt-making, not just because she gets to work with colorful textured fibers with her hands. There are very few rules when making felt, it is fast and mistakes are easily corrected. Loyce also spins and teaches beginning spinning, knitting, weaving, sewing, embroidering, and horse riding! |
