Virtual Knit Night
Let's socialize … distantly.
Join us for a virtual knit night on Tuesdays at 6-8 PM
Comfy clothes are recommended; pajamas encouraged. Join us for the whole time or drop in when you can.

We're using Zoom, a virtual meeting program. It will allow us to talk, show our projects, and see one another (using your camera is optional. Heck, you don't even have to turn on your mic if you don't want to). There's no signup process or fee for you—just a quick registration.

When you click the link below on your laptop, tablet, or smartphone, you will be prompted to install Zoom if you haven't used it before. If you'd like to test this early, you can click the link at any time.

Here's a quick video showing what to expect when you join the meeting.

Mixing of Cultures Stranded Colorwork

Presented by Jennifer Berg of Native Knit
Picture
April 17 & April 24, 2021
Two 10 AM sessions (FULL)
OR
Two 1 PM
sessions (FULL)
Class size is limited, registration details here.
In this two-part virtual class, Jennifer will explain how she incorporates her Navajo heritage into her designs and where she finds inspiration. As part of this class, students will have the opportunity to make a collaborative project, featuring Jennifer's TseKoh (rock-cut/canyon) Cowl and be shown how to add their own personality, heritage, or symbols into a colorwork chart that will be at the center of the cowl.

Registration fee includes:
  • Two virtual sessions (~90 minutes each)
  • Jennifer’s TseKoh cowl pattern
  • Three skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Arbor
Skill Level
Adventurous beginner/intermediate—students should be able to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off. The pattern is worked in the round and follows a colorwork chart.

This pattern—developed specifically for this Puddletown event—was dreamt up to teach aspiring designers how to create their own motifs within a developed design. The focus will be on inspiration concepts, work with drawing your own chart, and learn colorwork techniques to make a unique one of a kind cowl.

Jennifer has been receiving increased national attention after being featured in Modern Daily Knitting's March Mayhem and having one of her designs featured in the magazine Making. Visit her website or follow @native.knitter on Instagram to see her gorgeous work.
