The Guild's official charity project for 2021 will once again be in partnership with Rose Haven.
Our 2021 charity knitting project is Winter Warmth for Rose Haven Women's Shelter. Any type of warm item is welcome, hats, gloves, scarves, cowls, even sweaters, if you are so inclined. Rose Haven serves women, gender non-conforming folk and their children, so all sizes and color schemes are welcome. Want to crochet or sew an item? Go ahead. Machine washable is the only rule. Need some ideas for patterns? We've started a thread on our Ravely forum which includes a bundle of free patterns (let us know if you'd like access to the patterns but can't use Ravelry). |

Keep an eye on social media for yarn days to pick up donated yarn for this project. Or email us to arrange yarn pick up or finished item drop off. For every item made and donated through Puddletown, the maker of said item will get one entry into a raffle!
Rose Haven is a day shelter and community center in Portland serving more than 3,300 women, gender non-conforming folk and their children annually who are experiencing the trauma of abuse, loss of home, and poverty. Rose Haven first helps meet basic needs for food, clothing, hygiene, and safety. Then guests are provided education, support and resources to assist them in regaining stability in their lives.

The Guild’s official charity project for 2020 was in partnership with Butterfly Boxes.
Butterfly Boxes, started by Puddletown member Adrienne and her sister-in-law, helps established community members welcome refugees to Oregon. These newest of Oregonians come from around the globe and often arrive with few of the basic necessities or home comforts we take for granted. Butterfly Boxes seeks to bridge that gap with airport welcome bags, made by volunteers and delivered to the airport by their partners at Catholic Charities. These bags are filled with basic necessities like toiletries and towels, comfort items like stuffed animals and dolls, and organizational tools like calendars and folders to help settle into life in Oregon. In December 2020, we presented Butterfly Boxes almost 150 handmade stuffed animals. |

In November 2018, we presented the Sunshine Division with over 200 beautiful hats for their charity. |
